I'm Bill, nice to meet you.
I’m a UX/UI Designer with a background in graphic and digital design. I have experience working in the real estate industry where I’ve worked mainly in digital marketing, focusing on promoting real estate developers and master planned communities. In previous roles as primarily a production artist I produced and brought the print/online ads, emails, touchscreens and landing pages to life for the users. Now I want to use my creativity and artistic ability to focus more on solving problems and the users needs.
I am particularly interested in companies that offer job stability, remote opportunities, a good work/life balance and opportunities for self improvement.
How I got started in User Experience Design
My interest in UX design came from being a designer but having a limited opportunity to design specifically for the user. As a graphic designer I always tried to keep the users in mind when designing but UX design was never at the forefront for my previous employers. I was always designing what we thought was best for the client and there never seemed to be enough time for the user centered design process.
So I decided that now is the time to learn and transition into becoming an UX designer. For the past 6-7 months I have been taking Career Foundry's UX boot camp and I have learned a lot in that short time frame.
What I've been working on
Throughout the UX course at Career Foundry I've had the sole responsibility of being the UX researcher and UX/UI designer. I've developed two applications at various levels and designed/developed two Alexa skills for my Voice User Interface speciality part of the course.
